Small Group Coach, Master of Health Sciences

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Sport Sciences from the University of Jyväskylä in 2011, majoring in Physical Education Pedagogy and minoring in Health Education. In addition to working as a physical and health education teacher, I have experience as a strength training coach, and as an instructor in weightlifting, mobility training, and running groups. I’ve also coached juniors in various ball sports as well as in athletics.

As a coach, I want to help my clients gain energy and resilience for their busy everyday lives through exercise. Regular physical activity is an excellent way to structure your daily routine, promote healthy habits, and improve overall quality of life. The most important factor in maintaining regular exercise is finding internal motivation. For some, having a concrete goal—like bench pressing 100 kg—is the most important driver. Others are most inspired when they get to sweat it out with a challenging and varied workout in good company. Many are motivated by the desire to live a long, active life without pain or movement restrictions. And let’s face it—looking sporty and fit can also be a major confidence booster.

In all of these cases, high-quality, progressively structured, and regularly performed strength training—scaled to the individual’s fitness level, skill, and age—is an excellent method. I personally enjoy a variety of physical activities, with a particular focus on strength training. What motivates me most is striving for new personal records and the amazing feeling I get after a great workout. This joy of movement is what I want to share with my clients as well.

My goal is to provide each trainee with a strength training session that suits their level—one that gets them sweating, increases their strength, improves mobility, and leaves them feeling satisfied and energized, ready to take on the rest of life’s demands.
