Heini Sistonen
Physiotherapist, Sports physiotherapist
My typical physiotherapy clients are people of all ages in various life situations, ranging from chronic pain patients to those requiring neurological rehabilitation, as well as individuals at the early stages of rehabilitation to elite athletes. Additionally, I have treated numerous clients in psychophysical physiotherapy, for example, in managing stress and addressing burnout symptoms.
In my work, I use a versatile and individualized approach, where the treatment plan is always tailored to meet the client’s current situation and needs.
The goals for rehabilitation are created together with the client, and we work as a team towards your goals in areas such as rehabilitation, injury prevention, managing work-related stress, weight management, general well-being, or lifestyle changes.
Even when things get challenging, working together with a positive attitude helps achieve good results!
Professional Background and Studies
I have gained extensive work experience and education in healthcare, holistic rehabilitation, and well-being over more than 10 years of studies and over 20 years of work. Together, these have enabled my versatile role in the comprehensive care of people.
My work in the healthcare field began in 1998, focusing on the rehabilitation of children and young people with special needs. After that, I worked in a hospital, including on an acute ward and with the elderly. Simultaneously, I worked as a strength and conditioning coach in several different sports. After my hospital work, I went on to study education, coached, and lived in Sweden.
After returning from Sweden, I continued working in rehabilitation and coaching while also teaching. During that time, I also served as a youth national team coach in track and field, primarily working with sprinters and hurdlers, and I coached wheelchair racers among para-athletes.
